The precise age of Puma Punku, also spelled Puma Puncu and pumapunku, is unclear, but range between thousands of years before the time of Christ, to centuries afterwards. What does appear clear, though, is that whomever made the structure that must have once sat at Puma Punku we capable of moving massive stones long distances, and also performing precision stone-masonry. The stones appear worked with modern electrical and/or pneumatic tools.

The exact purpose of the structure is also unknown, but most seem to agree it was either mystical or related to the stars. Most experts appear more concerned with the method used to tool the rock that historical records to indicate must have been created with primitive tools. Nonetheless, the stonework appears anything but primitive, with many sections looking machined.
Some have argued that the ruins of Puma Punku are evidence of alien architecture, possibly in order to prepare a large wall that was once used to protect a craft. Such theorists point to what are known as H-blocks, which appear designed for some geometric interlocking construction.

Close to Puma Punku sits Tiahuanaco, an ancient city that is believed to have been build around 1,000 A.D., where there are strange heads that many believe show ethnicities and cultures with which the locals should not have neen familiar, as well as some possible alien or god figures. Some of the god or totem figures also appear to have large beards, or significant facial hair, while the indigenous people would be more likely to have no facial hair, or very little.
Some have stated that Fuente Manga Bowl, also found in the area, appears to Sumerian cuneiform and possibly a hieroglyphic language. See a portion of the bowl, below:
